Barbara Finger

Barbara Finger has been an active and committed member of the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom since 2016, serving as chapter co-chair prior to joining the Board of Directors. Professionally, Ms. Finger is an attorney, who spent the bulk of her career as a. litigator and trial attorney, representing doctors, hospitals and not for profit institutions against claims of professional malpractice. Ms. Finger currently serves as Special Counsel to the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services. (The Jewish Board is the largest social service agency in NY State, providing a wide range of mental health services to those in need.)She is also a faculty  member at Cardozo Law School's Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University and was graduated from Union College, in Schenectady, NY.  She and her husband co-lead a group at their synagogue entitled "Having and How to Have Difficult Conversations", drawing on the skills she learned through Sisterhood. She lives with her husband in Kew Gardens, NY and they are the proud parents of three children, three children-in-law, and six grandchildren.
