New Jersey Teens Create Content for Observing Passover and Ramadan During COVID-19

Aneesa Saha and Naomi Meininger, high school seniors in New Jersey, are the co-leaders of our Northern Valley teen Sisterhood chapter. Throughout the 2019-2020 school year, they’ve dedicated their efforts to helping classmates and their communities better understand Islam and Judaism. Using explorations of kosher and halal cuisine as a jumping off point, the girls encouraged conversations around the differences and similarities between their faiths.

When COVID-19 hit, Aneesa and Naomi realized they could use their voices to teach about the upcoming holidays of Passover and Ramadan while offering support to all those who will very likely be celebrating quite differently this year.

Check out the girls’ first video on observing Passover in the time of COVID-19! Stay tuned for future videos on Ramadan and the intersection of religion and mental health!
