In February, members of the Sacramento region of the Sisterhood took part in the annual Build for Unity program with Habitat for Humanity. They joined together with volunteers from various churches, community organizations, and Habitat constructor supervisors to work on the Cornerstone development.
Beginning in early 2016, various faith groups in Sacramento came together to raise funds for and to build Habitat homes as a permanent symbol of interfaith unity in their city. Build for Unity occurs every year during World Interfaith Harmony Week and brings together over 250 volunteers from various faith groups to "build homes, community, and hope." What started in Sacramento and is a local Sisterhood tradition now takes place in over 30 other Habitat communities in cities across the United States.
