Meryl Frank was appointed by President Barack Obama as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in February 2010, after serving as the U.S. Representative to the CSW for nearly one year. In addition to her service as U.S. Ambassador, she is the President of Makeda Global Network, a consulting firm focusing on women’s leadership and political participation around the world. She has more than three decades of experience in public service and advocating for women and children. Serving as Mayor of Highland Park for ten years, she gained a reputation for her stands on good government and creating New jersey’s first “Green Community” In addition, she also served as President of the Women’s Division of the American Jewish Congress. Ambassador Frank is a member of JWI’s board of trustees. Ambassador Meryl Frank was recently named one of the Jerusalem Post’s 50 most influential Jews in the World.
