Western Nassau Chapter Family Picnic

After a flurry of concern about the weather, the sun shone and a welcome breeze fluttered over Grant Park in Hewlett for the Western Nassau County Sisterhood chapter’s family picnic on Monday, July 10th. Chapter sisters, three Long Island regional guests, spouses, children, and grandchildren gathered to enjoy the summer and each other’s company. Everyone brought a delicious dish (or two!) for dinner, with homemade chai, flan, and assorted pastries and fruit for dessert. The group also got to meet and talk to our sister Afroz’s husband, Tanvir Ahmad, who is running for county legislator. The evening ended with a relaxing walk around the pond, before everyone reluctantly said their goodbyes.
